SMD+ is proud to announce their collaboration with the French Institute on the renovation of the diplomatic building and French Cultural Centre in central London.
Our consultancy provided Technical Advisory services in Design Management & Project Management support to the French Institute.
The French Institute is situated in the South Kensington in the heart of the London historical exhibition area close to the Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert museum, and Science Museum. The area was developed for the World Exhibition in 1851, and since then is the centre of since, art, and cultural exchange.
Number 17 Queensberry Way building, a current home of the Institute, is Grade II listed building, designed by French architect M. Patrice Bonnet in 1925.
The French Cultural Centre comprises a language centre, 2 cinema, multi-media library, a children’s library, cafeteria, a restaurant which welcomes over 200, 000 people each year.
The French Institute is part of the French Agency of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in charge of promoting French culture overseas and international cultural exchanges.
